>Colorful Ensembles- Spring and Summer 1936

>A slight detour from the winter weather, I had to share this page from the Spring and Summer 1936 Bella Hess catalog I just recieved in the mail today.  I actually squealed with delight as I opened it to the first page and saw this page and haven’t looked at the rest of the catalog! I ran over to the computer to share.

You know how everyone has dream outfits?  The top left two are mine.  Scrumptious! I wish they would magically appear in my closet and winter or not I’d be parading around town in these with pride.  Doesn’t the girl on the left look very Myrna Loy?  I *love* the wild colors of the ensemble.  And can’t you imagine the sailor suit with bakelite anchors for trim?  Yes, please!

    >Beautiful, thanks for sharing :) They're so delightful. I don't think there's a better word to describe them. I like the brown with the yellow and orange best!

    >You know Lauren…you bum me out sometimes with these old catalog posts. What I wouldn't give for some of those lovely outfits, and the SHOES!….I sometimes swear if I ever get RICH I am going to start my own classic clothing line and accesories line. Thanks for sharing, however. I may have to get a new keyboard for drolling all over this one, LOL.

    >Oh boy, Myrna Loy, indeed! The two frocks at top right first caught my eye, but once I looked at the close up of the sailor dress, I almost double swooned!

    >Look how gorgeous these colors are! I always get a kick out of watching my 30's movies and imagining what color they would be if the film wasn't black and white. So pretty!
