A look at hand embroidered stockings from May, 1905. Did you realize that embellished stockings made a comeback in the Edwardian through 1910s era? There were lovely knit patterns, but also embroidered stockings that could be purchased, or patterns for embroidery that could be done at home.

I happen to have an e-pattern for a rare embroidery pattern for stockings from the 1910s, if you’re the DIY type. No embroidery techniques are included, but the pretty embroidery motif designs from over a century ago are. This is listed in both my Etsy shop and my website.

P.s. you can totally use those “clocked stockings” from earlier eras for this time frame, too! Showing off those shorter skirts meant pretty stockings made a resurgence!
