I was talking to my good friend today who’s in the midst of sewing the Smooth Sailing pattern and she gave me the most wonderful idea! I have started a Flickr group for Wearing History patterns! I would *love* to see what everyone has been making from the patterns in my pattern line, and I’d love to see fellow sewing enthusiasts pitch in and encourage and help others with the patterns as well. Kind of a show and tell of what we have made!

Our little town is cute, but BOY is it annoying that the only fabric shop within 30 miles decides to close for a week to do inventory — no zippers to be had for love or money! I am really looking forward to seeing how other girls are making your patterns up!

January 4, 2011 at 4:33 pm (13 years ago)>Kate, the pants pattern should be easy to adjust to fit your figure because it has darts in the back and pleats in the front. I bet you can fiddle with the darts pretty easily until you get a good fit.

I think it will be fun to show and tell :)Kate, if you're in the range the patterns are in you can trace on top of the pattern with paper and do the waist from one size and ease into the hip from another size. I know some gals have done what Meg says, too- and made the pleats at front smaller- kind of draped them on themselves to where they like the fit. Luckily the pleats and darts are nearly smack dab in the middle of the pieces, so making adjustments equally at the side and center front for the front pieces and side and center back for the back pieces makes enlarging them pretty easy for going up a size or two :) If you want to get fancy you can play with crotch depth and length and such on your muslin, too, to make the fit just right. Hope that helps!

I didn't think the picture belonged in the Flickr pool but I wanted to share! Also, the dress looks way cuter on than it does on the hanger but there was a glimmer or sunlight and I took advantage quickly!
