>Catalog Cover- Fall/Winter 1939-1940

>Thanks so much for your sweet comments on my new sewing machine yesterday!  Can’t wait to sew more things with it!
Here’s a fun little catalog cover I thought you might enjoy- it’s from the same catalog as the page I shared a few days ago.  Don’t you love the dress with the contrast insets on the skirt?  What a dream that would be to dance in!

I also wanted to share this really cool vintage pattern I added to the new shop yesterday.  This is a DuBarry pattern from the late 30s, and isn’t it quite unique?  I’ve seen a few of this type skirt with the stitched pleats that start at mid hip, but this one has stitched pleats AND it’s cut on the bias! Isn’t that unusual?  If it was my size I’d be keeping it, but since I’m not in the mood to grade all the pleat placements it’s up in the shop if you’re interested.
More 30s and 40s patterns coming, as usual.  Don’t forget to subscribe to the shop feed so you can get first dibs!

Happy Wednesday!

    >oh, I'm partial to the stunning sweater! I've seen a couple of vintage dresses with stitched pleats (or at least rows of pintucking designed to mimick the look of pleats from a distance) and can only imagine how much time it would take to do them. Astounding!
