>Ah! Rain! It was thundering and lightening and raining this morning and afternoon and I was in HEAVEN. We don’t get much rain here, so every time it rains I get in an utterly romantic and artistic mood! Despite my cravings for closeting myself up and playing with wools and listening to the Amelie soundtrack, I had to get a lot of shipping and business stuff done today, but I did let out my inner francophile with a nautical French look.
The jacket is vintage from the 1940s- it actually was a trade from a lovely friend who has since moved to Spain. I think it was meant to be- the inside is embroidered with what were my pre-marriage initials!
The pants, of course, are my worn to death pair of the Smooth Sailing trousers. They’ve become my wardrobe staple! I really need to make up another pair for myself.
The blouse is a short sleeve sweater purchased last summer from Charlotte Russe, a teenage chain clothing store.
The shoes are vintage, from a friend
The hat actually was my mom’s from the 1970s! It’s got a few moth nips, but it’s my favorite rainy weather hat.
Since a couple of you asked for pics of my hair when it’s not styled, here’s a front and back shot. Excuse the stupid face… I think I was mid-sentance, but the pic shows it better than the others I snapped :)
Tomorrow’s my birthday so I am taking tomorrow and the weekend off. See y’all back online next week! Hope you have a great weekend!
