Weekend Vintage Finds

Hello! Happy Saturday!

I wanted to show and tell some of my recent little finds.  I hit a few estate sales and garage sales this weekend- yesterday with a friend and today with my husband. I was so excited about some of these I had to share :)

I found the yummy fabrics at an estate of a lady who did a lot of sewing.  They’re silks and cottons, and I love the cheerful prints!  I’m always a sucker for old packaging, so the seam binding and bias tape are quite fun.  The vintage pattern was a gift- I saw a listing for a garage sale today with vintage items and it was a fun coincidence that the girl running it was a lovely gal who had a vintage store in a nearby town I used to frequent. She gave me this pattern and I’m excited about the super cute design.  The package was dated 1951!  Her name is Tiffany and she now makes really neat leather work designs and sells on Etsy at Contrived to Charm.  You can find a her blog and more info on her website.

At her garage sale I also picked up these darling items- a vintage telephone cord purse with an amazing bird charm and a western scarf! Yee haw!  I’m such a sucker for the novelty items :)

Hurrah for fun vintage finds! I hope you’re having a fantastic weekend!

  2. I learned something new from your post today–I’ve never seen a telephone cord purse before! What fun! Now, I’ll be on the lookout for one for myself. Enjoyed your estate sale finds. . .

  3. Ooh, nice finds! Those fabrics look fantastic. That purse is adorable with the charm, and of course I love the scarf too. Novelty, check! Western, check! Big winners in my book, too. :)

  4. I am WILDLY jealous of your telephone cord purse – I want one soooo much! The birdie is so cute. I’ve actually seen someone selling them on ebay and I’m always tempted to buy one but didn’t know what I could do with it. Now I do!
