The 1930s Frilled Blouse pattern is up and finished. Woohoo!
At this time it’s only the original period pattern size of a 36″ bust, 30″ waist, 39″ hips, because of the tricky construction and pattern cut, and the lines and labeling which would be a bit lost in nested grading. In future I may revisit and add additional single sizes- we shall see!

In the instructions I linked to additional content that help illustrate some of the methods used.
I made an index of lapped seam tutorials here, with visuals made for other Wearing History patterns. The same methods can be applied here for the lapped seam that connects the lower bodice section to the upper bodice section.
I also made a brand new video showing how to do shirring to a stay. This was used throughout a lot of history to add ruching as an effect without sacrificing durability or shaping. You can find that video here.
This pattern is available as a printed pattern and as an e-pattern download. If you’d like to purchase the pattern you can it here on my website and here in my Etsy shop.
Have a great week!
