Priscilla Fashions, 1928- Distinguished by Smart Simplicity

I just got a really, REALLY cool new toy thanks to Facebook Marketplace. This large scale flatbed scanner lets me scan full vintage magazine pages in one go, instead of 2-3 scans then photoshopped together like I’ve done since this blog began. Yeah, it took forever… so hopefully this means more future blog posts!

What better thing to do than to post a page to celebrate?

My cousin just gave me quite a stash of vintage magazines that my mother had at my Aunt’s house. This little time capsule was extra endearing because my mom was also a vintage lover. Thank you, mom! I love the magazines!

This page comes from the August, 1928 issue of the Modern Priscilla magazine.

Priscilla patterns were mail order. You would send away for these patterns by number through the mail. Hopefully posting this here can help someone date their pattern stash, as well as supplying us with fashion history inspiration for our own creations.

Pattern numbers are 169-8, 3184-8, 980-8, 3319. 3174-8, 3404.

As always, feel free to share and pin, but please link back here and credit my scanning and image doctoring from the period source <3
