New Pattern Time! 1930s Dress, Jumper and Blouse

Hurrah! Time for a new pattern!

This pattern is based on a pattern from the late 30s, probably 1937 or 1938, and features a fun square necked dress or jumper that buttons up the front with a fitted high waistband.  The skirt is cut in gores so it has a good “swish”.  It can be accented with  rick rack braid or bias binding, or can be left plain.  It looks cute in prints (in fact, I’m in the process of making one up for myself), and it can be worn over the full sleeved blouse which is also included with this pattern.  The skirt of this pattern has been shortened three inches in these photos, but if you raise the hem up to around the knee this pattern will easily carry you into looks for the early 1940s!  Great for swing dancing!

This pattern is now available on my website in sizes 30 to 46 inch bust, and it’s on sale for a special introductory rate of $22!

Many thanks to the lovely Beth of V is for Vintage blog for modelling for these photos!

This is great – and might be a good one for Mary. I can’t wait to see it made up in a print!

I homeschool and sew costumes for our history presentations. I went nuts a couple of years ago when we studied the 20th century, looking for patterns. I love this pattern, especially the blouse option! Thank you…I just ordered it!

ooohhh fabulous! I saw this on Casey’s blog in the returning sponsors and thought…hey, wait a second…I don’t remember this one :) I absolutely love the 30’s jumper look and that blouse is divine! The mock-up with piping is fantastic and I can’t wait to see your printed one as well! YAY!
