>Make a Splash! Bathing Suits- 1938, and Lastex

>

Aren’t these fun?  Colorful and playful swim suits from 1938!  I love the one with the palm trees, and the one further down the page with the nautical anchor.
I’d also like vintage poolside to lounge by, with colorful umbrellas shading outside tables and chairs, giant beach balls, and poolside fun like in the color short “Starlit Days at the Lido”.

Lastex, a fabric that made millions of girls happy! Stretch to the suits, so an alternative to droopy cotton or wool!

    >I love these suits. I just got my fella into a pair of 60's swim trunks… now if I could only get him in a pair of 30's cut trunks!

    >That palm trees swimsuit is fabulous! I've acquired a few 50s suits lately to add to my probably-30s one, which I love. xx CharlotteTuppence Ha'penny

    >Oh my! – that video is so fun and crazy! It took me a while to realize that the smoking blonde kept dropping her cigarette and would magically pull another one from the ukelele player's tie, etc. Thanks for this post. It was great fun after a long day at work…- S

    >I love these! They're giving me tons of ideas for stretch-appropriate swimsuits (whenever I get around to making mine! ;)! I think, however, the "Korkers" shoes are what really caught my eye–so cute! :D♥ Caseyblog | elegantmusings.com

    >Thank you so much for posting these! The video is so sweet. I love how shy the bathing beauties look as they promenade. What great summertime inspiration!

    >This made me laugh! I wore my vintage suit to the pool yesterday with the kids, and didn't think about what might happen when you combine rapid weight-loss, 60+ year-old fabric, and water. It wasn't pretty — I spent the rest of the hour covering myself with an 11 month old for modesty. Time for a new suit. Oops!
