Today I have a lovely image I cleaned up to share from a vintage 1916 Ladies Home Journal magazine. This is from the July issue, exactly 99 years ago.
I hope you enjoy! I included close ups of all the images, since it’s often hard to read the big sheets on a screen.
I’m especially loving the shoes! We tend to not think of all the amazing sporting shoes available in the 19-teens. I’d gladly wear those today!

July 16, 2015 at 5:44 am (9 years ago)I love the styles of this era. That polkadot skirted outfit is so elegant. Who would have thought that the sneakers of yesteryear would look as sharp as our office shoes today? Oh, how I wish we could go back to that standard of footwear. So lovely!

And the hip-yoked skirt for the large-hipped. I have some off-white cotton duck that’s been waiting for a pattern like that.
