First Peek at Wearing History Clothing!

Hi all!

SO EXCITED to finally share what I’ve been working hard on making happen behind the scenes!

My Kickstarter will be up in August- a little under a month from now!  You’ll be able to preorder these then!

This shirtwaist dress was inspired by the late 1930s, and has great puffed sleeves and other details that make it both sporty and dressy.  There will be a second version of this dress, and I’m still working hard behind the scenes on getting that ready to show you.

jenntrousersIf you’ve been following me for a while, you may recognize my Smooth Sailing trousers.  Like all the clothing I’m selling in ready to wear, these are my own draft, and these have been updated to my new ready to wear sizing.

These will be a nice cotton denim in a light enough weight to make you feel cool, casual, and like you can wear these all year ’round!

Paired with a brand new top with a great collar, gathering at the top yoke, and slightly gathered sleeves.  This blouse will also come in another fabric… and I can’t wait to show it to you, because the print is unique to my clothing line!

Both the dress and blouse have been drafted for movement, so you can dance, raise your arms, and be active without loosing your vintage chic.

I’ll post more as I’m able.  In the meantime, my new website is http://wearinghistoryclothing.com

Bookmark it, because awesome stuff is happening!

    Hi,

I have been so eagerly awaiting the launch of your clothing line I can’t tell you how absolutely excited I’ve been. I have been following all of your posts and can’t tell you how disappointed I am today to find out that you are not going to be making anything that will fit me. Your sizing is just that little bit too small for me. I live in the UK and purchase a lot of my clothing from our British Manufacturers who’s sizing cater for my size and larger. I think that you will be missing out on a large sector of the market as you are not producing what the UK call a size 18 and you US guys call a size 16. There are very few good quality vintage reproduction manufacturers out there as it is. I am now so very sad about this news.

i’m in the same darn boat! i love her styles and patterns, but as a size 16/18 nothing would fit my wide hips and busty chest. i don’t mind that people have to start out with smaller sizes, but you have no idea how frustrating it is for someone who has been plus sized since she was a child. i cry in the dressing room because nothing fits. i starve myself only to find the number on the scale hasn’t lowered. and this just reminds me once more that although i love these styles i won’t be able to own any because it’ll be forever before she can draft plus sizes. and i give up once more.

        Hello,
Thanks so much for the feedback! I’m so it’s so frustrating :(

Once you get to a certain size range, you basically have to redraft the pattern. Then you use that one as the base pattern and grade up from there, and so on. The current range is one I feel I could safely offer in this same base pattern I have drafted. Unfortuantely, I was only really trained in the size range mentioned, and would have to get outside help for further sizing needs.

I’m trying to figure out if it’s possible for get at least one size up from this chart, but I’m not sure if I’d be able to get it ready by the time the Kickstarter goes up. I am looking into it,though!

Thank you so much for your support!
