First Video Blog!

Hello there! Here we go! Posting my first video blog. Hope you enjoy learning a bit more about me and my blog and patterns.

Thanks so much to those of you who gave me suggestions of what to talk about on my first video blog!  I was a big nervous, but hopefully I’ll get better as I do more :)

YAY!! Great job! “There’s actually people who SEW the patterns they buy?!?” LOL!! I’m not one of them either! I sew some of them, but they’re just so interesting to look at, that I get the one’s that call to me and I like to see the collection grow over time. It’s like an archeological dig through women’s history, based on something both as ephemeral and timeless as fashion! Great stuff; especially when you can find something, can ‘translate’ what era, and discern the form and context of a particular piece of clothing or pattern. I alway wonder who owned it and why; did they make a garment? where did they wear it? what happened to it? etc. etc. Just fascinating, and I’m glad there’s folks like yourself that continue to promote vintage fashion and patterns (particularly in era’s that I don’t know much about). Looking forward to more video blogs!

Dear Lauren, how nice to meet you. While I have always been interested in Vintage fashion, I felt like I was alone as well. Your work is so lovely, your styling so authentic. Keep up the great work, thanks for sharing yourself and your kitty on video. Happy New Year.
